"In the name of all of us" is a curatorial project by Ana Simić and Marija Jojić that puts feminist theory in the context of class struggle and copyright issues through an act of artistic appropriation. The exhibited works of feminist art obtained by "theft", i.e. piracy, ironically reflect the time, place and purpose that brought them together: the commemoration of Women's Day at the occupied Student Cultural Center. In addition to their original and obvious purpose to educate, empower and spread awareness about the problems and position of women in a patriarchal society, these carefully selected works by contemporary female artists also serve to raise additional questions regarding authorship and capitalism. Who has the right to women's art? Who has the right to the occupied space of the gallery? Is stealing the intellectual property of famous (and therefore rich) female artists for the purpose of educating young women a noble act? Does a pirated recording carry the same weight as the original work?...
